The client wanted to set up the kitchen garden at their secondary residence, which would mean that it had to be a low-maintenance space. He also wanted to place the kitchen garden up front, and overlooking the street instead of the traditional back-of-home location.
Since most of the limited space around the house was paved, we had to create growing areas by using the space a little unconventionally. Also, the design of the garden had to take into account that sunlight availability was minimal
The garden, which took our team about a week to set up, was productive within 8 weeks and featured a wide range of vegetables including kale, carrots, chard, lettuce, broccoli and more. Drip irrigation and vertical containers were used to maximise productivity from the small space.
