Garden design & coaching

We’ll help you begin—and make sure you can carry on.

Most first kitchen gardens die in the first four weeks. Not because you're doing anything wrong — usually because the wrong things got planted in the wrong soil at the wrong time. This service is basically: we sit with you through those four weeks.

FOUR PACKAGES

Something for most situations

Home Garden — 30–200 sq m ground space

For homes with roughly 30–200 sq m of ground-level space.

Our most common setup. You have some land — a backyard, a side patch, an under-used area by the well — and you'd like to turn it into a working kitchen garden.

What you get:

  • Site visit, sunlight and soil assessment
  • Custom planting plan for the season
  • Raised bed setup and soil prep
  • All seeds, seedlings, inputs for first planting
  • Regular coaching visits through the season
  • WhatsApp support for when things look weird

Best time to start: October — the easy-mode season on the Konkan coast.

Terrace Garden — rooftops and terraces

For homes and buildings with usable terrace space.

Terraces often get more sunlight than a shaded backyard, and with the right containers and soil, they can produce seriously well. We've done terrace gardens around Goa and in a few Mumbai and Pune buildings.

What you get:

  • Terrace audit — structure, drainage, sunlight, wind
  • Container and grow-bag layout sized to your space
  • Soil and potting mix
  • Seeds and seedlings for the season
  • Setup day plus follow-up visits
  • A simple watering and care routine

Works well for: families, housing societies, Mumbai / Bengaluru buildings with shared rooftops.

Container Garden — balconies and small spaces

For flats with a balcony, a window sill, or very little space.

You'd be amazed what fits on a balcony. We've seen Mumbai 2BHKs grow more herbs than the family could eat, with pots carefully arranged around the AC unit. If someone has told you your space is "too small" to grow anything real, they're usually wrong.

What you get:

  • Honest audit of your light and space
  • A curated pot and planter combination
  • Container-specific potting soil
  • Balcony-friendly herbs and vegetables
  • Setup session, four-week follow-up
  • WhatsApp for the "is this normal?" moments

Works well for: apartment folks in Goa, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru.

Restaurant / Café Garden — menu-first design

For restaurateurs who want ingredients coming from their own backyard.

Fresh-from-the-garden is now a real selling point on menus, and a working kitchen garden on your property is also a lovely thing for guests to walk past. We've helped a handful of restaurants set these up.

What you get:

  • A chat with you and your chef on what's worth growing
  • Garden design sized to the kitchen's volume
  • Soil setup and irrigation
  • Seeds and seedlings keyed to your menu's calendar
  • Training for your team or gardener
  • Quarterly reviews through the first year

Typical outputs: lettuces, microgreens, herbs, heirloom tomatoes, chillies, edible flowers.

Pricing

What it costs

We don't publish prices on the site because honestly, each garden is so different that quoting a number before we've seen your space would be dishonest. After an enquiry and a site visit (free within Goa; we'll work out travel elsewhere), we send you a clear breakdown within a week.

Container Garden packages start at ₹[X]. Home and Terrace Garden typically range ₹[X]–₹[Y] for a full season of setup plus coaching.

For faraway clients (Delhi, Bengaluru, non-metro locations), online coaching with detailed photo consultations often works just as well — and costs a lot less.

COMMON QUESTIONS

About garden setup & coaching

How long does a typical garden setup take?

Setup itself is usually 1–2 days depending on garden size. The coaching phase that follows runs across a full growing season (roughly 3–4 months), with regular visits and WhatsApp support between them. By the end of one season, most clients are running the garden confidently on their own.

Do you travel outside Goa for design work?

Yes, for larger projects. Most of our out-of-Goa work is in Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. Travel costs are quoted upfront. For smaller container gardens, our online coaching with detailed photo consultations often works just as well.

Do you maintain gardens after setup, or just design them?

Our core model is setup + coaching — we get you going and teach you (or your gardener) to run it. We don't offer ongoing maintenance contracts as a rule, because we'd rather you be self-sufficient. For restaurant gardens we do offer quarterly reviews through the first year.

What if I already have a gardener?

Even better. We work with your gardener directly during setup so they understand the organic methods and planting plan. Many of our home-garden clients have existing help, and our coaching visits include their gardener from the start.

Tell us about your space.

Send us a few photos, where you are, and what you most want to grow. We'll come back within a few days with a proposal.
